Read: Isaiah 9:1-2
Imagine driving home at night and your headlights go out in the car. The only thing that you have is a couple of iPhones to shed some light on the road to lead you home. If you have ever stubbed your toe in the dark, you know how much we need light to navigate — not only with our cars but even with our hands and feet. Isaiah tells us, "The people walking in darkness have seen a great light." From the land of Galilee, Jesus came to shine light not into our eyes but into our lives. His light lets us see truth to navigate the path to everlasting life. Jesus also said that we are "the light of the world" (Matthew 5:14). He fills us with His light, which we can shine out to others. As we come to know Christ better, his light in us shines brighter.
In what ways can you show the light of Jesus this Christmas Season?
Are you making Jesus the brightest light in your family and community?
